Our go-to style girl Gretta Monahan admits, "I was the last sneaker girl on the trend train."

But that is SO not the case anymore!

Thanks to her extremely busy life (and with a little push from quarantine!), Gretta swapped her sky-high heels for a comfier option — sneakers! — and she's never looking back.

And, yes, thank you for asking, Gretta absolutely does have a favorite brand: the wildly popular Golden Goose.

"The MVP in my wardrobe are these vintage-style sneakers," she says. "These sneakers are actually made brand-new, but [made] to look old. That is the entire thing that makes them cool and trendy."

"I could put them on with a dress, a skirt, [or] a pair of pants," promises Gretta, who says she wears her collection of the star-accented, artfully-worn-in beauties everywhere, from the grocery store to the studio, to running after her son, Rio. "They're not like your old-fashioned sneakers you couldn't wear with anything."

Most importantly, of course, they're comfortable. "You can wear these all day long!"

Each sneaker is made by hand in Italy out of the finest materials, two of the many reasons she believes these sneaks are "special." (And she's certainly not alone in thinking so — they've been spotted on the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Selena Gomez, and Hilary Duff.)

But, while these trainers are stunners, they do start at $495 a pop — a little pricey! Which is why we asked Gretta to pick out a few more budget-friendly alternatives that are equally pretty and just as versatile.

"This is my new essential accessory. It's a waist bag or a fanny pack — call it whatever you want — but here's the deal: It leaves me hands-free. I can do whatever I want to do and not have to worry, because everything I need is tucked in safe and sound," she says. "The best part is? It's convertible." It comes with a removable chain, so you can use it as a wallet, a clutch, a fanny pack OR a crossbody bag. Talk about versatility!
