Rachael is celebrating her 26th book, Rachael Ray 50, with a little help from her friends and fans. As part of the festivities, "TODAY" anchor Al Roker — who gave Rach her big break 20 years ago — turned the tables on our television hostess with the mostess by asking Rach a few questions.
The book is split into three sections: Family, Friends, and Work.
Rach explains what it means to her to be an American, and how only by living in "the greatest country in the world" could she truly become as successful as she is today.
"We all have to be mindful, especially these days, when we're all so divided and we all seem to have these tough, strong lines in the sand. We're in camps and tribes — there's only one tribe," Rach says. "And this is the greatest passport, the greatest country in the world."
"And it's still true. It is absolutely as true today as it was yesterday," she continues. "If you work harder than everyone else and don't take that for granted. If you understand that work is a privilege, not a right. And if you are loving and kind to each other, opportunities will come to you. And it's up to you what to do with them when that happens."
We could not agree more!
Former first lady Michelle Obama sent along a special video message for Rach congratulating her on the release of her latest book.
"I can't wait to see what delicious dishes you've been cooking up — and relive a few of our favorite memories together," Michelle tells Rach. "I am so proud and excited for you and your readers who will get the chance to experience your warmth, your charm and your quick wit in the same way that I have. Thank you for sharing your story with the world."
