Genevieve Gorder, one of our favorite design gurus, is MARRIED and we're having serious envy over her dreamy Moroccan wedding!
Gorder, host of the new series "Stay Here" on Netflix, married furniture designer Christian Dunbar in Morocco back in September and came on the show to talk about what it was like hosting a wedding in such a romantic, exotic destination.
"I love family, I love heritage, but I just really want to throw a great party—that’s what I think a wedding should be," Gorder explains. "We stress out about way too many of the traditional things."

The couple built a “city” in the middle of the desert with layered rugs and tents and used local inspiration for everything from table settings to decor.
"I design a lot of people’s homes with things from this part of the world," she explains, so it only seemed natural for the couple to use small local touches. Wedding planner Matthew Robbins made pomegranate and lime centerpieces, used bracelets made by locals as napkin rings, and added brushy dried flowers in place of traditional wedding flora. He also used dried spices and beads to add a pop of color to the table.

Of course, the best part was the star-studded guest list, which included the couple’s closest friends—many of whom happen to be design heavyweights too! "Trading Spaces" co-host John Gidding married the couple.
"We went to Marrakech and we had one hell of a party!" she says. Color us jealous!
