Aging is inevitable and beautiful, but with it usually comes unwanted side effects — like dreaded dark spots and wrinkles.
But don't fret, women in your 40s and 50s, Rach's dermatologist, Dr. Anne Chapas, is here for you!
The best remedy for pigmentation is vitamin C, the doc says.
Dr. Chapas likes a serum called SkinCeuticals — which has 20% L-Ascorbic Acid, which is the chemical name for vitamin C.
"[The serum] should be in a dark bottle," Dr. Chapas says, "because it's inactivated by light."
About 5 drops of the serum should be added to your morning routine, right in between your gentle cleanser (Cetaphil is the doc's suggestion) and your moisturizer (Dr. Chapas suggests Aveeno Positively Radiant because it has built-in SPF).

Then at night, it's time to tackle wrinkles!
"Nighttime is all about upping the vitamin A," the expert explains.
To do that, she recommends the brand RoC for an over-the-counter retinol — because while some brands can be drying, this one has a built-in moisturizer.
"You can use a quarter-size amount and rub it in," the derm advises.
