Ingredients

  • 3 broccoli stems
  • ¾ cup all-purpose  flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • Salt
  • Dipping sauce of choice, for serving

Yield

Serves: 2 to 4

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Peel the broccoli stems to completely remove the tough outer edge. Cut into "French fry" shapes and set aside.

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with the flour, the second with the almond milk and the third with the breadcrumbs. Season the breadcrumbs with salt.

Working with one piece of broccoli at a time, coat with the flour, then the almond milk. Repeat once more before coating with the breadcrumbs. Transfer to the baking sheet and repeat with the remaining pieces of broccoli.

Bake until crispy, 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt to taste and serve with dipping sauce.
