Looking to add a bit of flavor to your Thanksgiving menu this holiday season? Rachael Ray's got just the solution for you.
"You want to keep [walnuts] fresh for a long period of time," Rach says. "Keep them cold. Nuts have oil; oil can spoil. I store mine in the freezer."
When you're ready to cook with walnuts, Rach says make sure to toast them first. "That's what develops the nuts' flavor," she says.
For this particular recipe, Rach used walnuts provided by our good friends at California Walnuts.
"They add not only flavor, but a lot of texture to all kinds of recipes," she says. "They're very nutritious too."
"So, eat more walnuts."
We couldn't agree more.
