"Top Chef" Richard Blais opens up about his weight-loss journey and how he maintains it with a balance of better-for-you foods and fitness.
"In that picture, I'm opening my first restaurant and I'm really living #ThatChefLife," Richard tells Rach and co-host-for-the-day Bob Harper about a throwback pic on his Instagram. "I'm working all day long, I'm tasting all of my food. And then because I love cooking [and] eating, I would get off of work after I ate all day and then I would enjoy myself. It would be 2 in the morning [and] I'm having a bottle of wine, a whole pizza — and I'm doing that 90, 100, 200 days in a row."
As for whether he made mostly dietary or fitness changes, the answer is both. "It's all about balance," Richard explains.
And that doesn't mean you have to forgo your favorite comfort foods, either! In fact, the chef taught us how to make a better-for-you lasagna (or what he calls a "Light-Sagna").
As for fitness, Richard tells us he's gearing up to run his 7th (!!!) New York City Marathon. Incredible!
