When one meets a personal trainer, one might assume that he or she, the very definition of tip-top shape #goals, was born toned to perfection. But that's not the case for one of "The Biggest Loser's" newest trainers, Erica Lugo. (Who, by the way, host Bob Harper has raved about!)
Before her new gig — before she even was on our show three years ago sharing fitness tips! — Erica lost a whopping 160 pounds!
"I cut myself in half, for sure!" she jokes.
But don't expect her to go any easier on her trainees just because she can empathize with their journey.
"People always go, 'You must be the super-sweet trainer, because you've lived it!'" says Erica. "And I'm like, 'Absolutely!' But I also know every excuse they have in the book. Because I've lived that, I've done that — I wrote the book for the longest time! SO it brings a different dynamic to the show, my own experience. And I love it, because my contestants — my team — they wholeheartedly have the buy-in. Not only have I lost the weight, I've kept it off for five years. And I think they just need that hope."
