As a wellness-focused Instagram influencer with over 600k followers, Hannah Bronfman is constantly asked what her "healthy obsession" is.
The answer? Celery juice. Hear her out.
"It's really powerful," Hannah tells us. "People are seeing amazing, amazing results by drinking celery juice properly — which means drinking it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning."
As for the health benefits of celery juice, Hannah says, "It's … anti-inflammatory, it's great for optimal digestion, it clears up your skin. People are seeing benefits when it comes to their migraines."
Start with 6 to 8 ounces of juice in the morning and work your way up to 16 ounces, Hannah recommends.
"When I first started doing this, I saw insane improvements on day 7," the Instagram influencer explains. "I'm not going to lie, [on] days 4 and 3, my skin was acting up and I was like, 'Oh gosh, what's going on?' But it's really because [the toxins] are coming out. On day 7, I was like, 'Wow, the glow is real.'"
"It's also really good [for] sustained energy," Hannah explains. "People are seeing [a] reduction in coffee [intake] by drinking celery juice first thing in the morning."
"And it's quite easy to make," she continues. She's not kidding! Get Hannah's easy recipe for celery juice, from her book Do What Feels Good, below.
Ingredients:
- 6 stalks of celery
- Pitcher of water
- Blender
- Strainer
- 3 cups
Method:
1. Add 6 stalks of celery and filtered water to blender (just enough water to cover celery).
2. Blend.
3. Use a strainer and pour into glass.
Pro Tip: If you're not a big fan of the taste of celery, Hannah suggests squeezing some lemon into your juice.
As always, be sure to check with your doctor before making dietary changes, especially if you are pregnant or have allergies, photosensitivity, kidney or digestive issues.
