When it comes to Thanksgiving, design guru Nate Berkus says that everyone deserves to have a beautiful and elegant table setting.

Even if you don't have a lot of money to spend this year, there are still ways to make your table look like a million bucks -- and Nate has three DIY tips to get you started:

1.) Make a Candle Holder Out of a Twig

If you have birched twigs in your back yard, cut them down to size and wait for them to dry out. Then, carve out the top to make room for your candle votive. Dip the bottom of the twig into a bowl of gold paint and let it dry. It's as simple as that!

2.) Create a Memory Bowl

This tip is a tradition in Nate's family. Take a serving or a center bowl and ask your guests to write down a holiday memory. Then, between dinner and dessert, bring out the bowl and have each person select a card. In doing so, your guests will be able to take a break from the festivities and reflect on what the holidays are all about: sharing memories and making new ones with the people you love most.

3.) Turn Your Twigs Into Placecard Holders

This one's super easy. Break off some twigs in your backyard. Using your glue gun, add a dot of glue on the branches and set them together. Once fully dried, place your name card in the small space between the twigs.
