Our ‘Wedding in a Week’ couple Hunter and Brittney are going to Bed, Bath & Beyond to make a wedding registry, and our lifestyle pro Amy Goodman is giving them pointers to make sure they cover all their bases.

Tip 1: Make a List

Take inventory of what you already own, and what you need, and then discuss colors and design elements with your spouse-to-be to figure out what you are both looking for.

Tip 2: Get Place Settings for 6-8 People (and Up!)

Amy says to plan for a minimum of 6-8 place settings (and possibly more at the holidays) for serving your guests.

Tip 3: Offer a Variety of Price Points

Amy recommends making sure that you have gifts at many different price points, so that everyone can afford something. She breaks it down like this: a third of your registry should be $50 and under, a third should be $50-$150, and the last third can be $150 and up.

Tip 4: Don’t Be Afraid to Put a Pricey Item on Your Registry

Amy says that you shouldn’t worry about putting a pricey item on your registry because a group of your guests might want to get together and purchase it for you.

Tip 5: Register for Things You Really Want

Make sure to register for things you really want, and items that you wouldn’t normally buy for yourself, so that your guests get the chance to give you something truly special.

Tip 5: Don’t Fall for the Fads of the Moment

Beware of trendy items (i.e. gelato makers) that you may not get a lot of use of.

And the surprises keep coming for Brittney and Hunter – Bed, Bath & Beyond generously donated $6,000 to cover the cost of their entire registry, and Rachael also gifted the pair her own products! Watch below for the wow-worthy moment, and don’t forget to tune in for Hunter and Brittney’s nuptials this Friday!
