This time of year, you can go to bed just fine — and wake up with a case of the sniffles!
And really, is there anything more infuriating than a cold that just won't quit?
Well, enter our good friend Dr. Ian, who came back to teach us how to try to tackle a cold in one day!
MORE: How to Lose Weight in 24 Hours!
He's got an hour-by-hour plan for you. Stick to it, and Dr. Ian says you'll be good to go in no time.
Here's what you have to do:
8:00 a.m.: Gargle with salt water
9:00 a.m.: Star drinking water
10:00 a.m.: Head to the drug store (to pick up the essentials — pain relief, allergy relief and cold and flu meds)
12:30 p.m.: Eat that chicken soup! (Fun fact: Chicken soup is so effective against colds because it boasts antioxidants, hydrates the nose, supports the immune system and it has carbs to help you feel full)
2:00 p.m.: Clean your nose
3:00 p.m.: Take 2 teaspoons of elderberry syrup (it has antiviral properties that can help boost your immune system)
4:00 p.m.: Get moving! A little exercise goes a long way
7:00 p.m.: Crash early — you need the Zzz's right now!
And that's it! Dr. Ian promises that if you follow all of these steps closely, you're sure to wake up feeling better the next day.
