Use Every Available Space
If space is at a premium, make use of every last inch, like hiding away a home office in a spare corner of your home.

Buy Materials in the Off Season
If you buy design elements during the off season, like wicker chairs at the end of summer or in the winter, you can find some good deals.

DIY Headboard
Headboards are expensive, but stick-on ceiling tiles are not! If you’re going for a luxurious look in your bedroom on a budget, Gidding says this is the way to go. Watch the video above to see how he created it.

Use Your Walls to Create Storage Space
Nail hooks or knobs on a wall using a quincunx (fancy word for diamond) pattern. This will give you vertical space to hang accessories like scarves, hats, necklaces and bags.

Create Your Own Furniture
Using inexpensive shelves (floating or with brackets) you can create the illusion of furniture using a bit of paint magic. Check out the video above to see how it’s done.
