Ingredients

  • 1 pound cooked (well-done) steak
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups salsa
  • Salt and pepper
  • Flour tortillas, warmed, for serving
For the toppings:
  • Grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • Scallions, chopped
  • Tomatoes, chopped

Preparation

Cut steak into 1-inch pieces and pulse them in a food processor until the mixture resembles coarse ground beef. Cook onion in vegetable oil over medium heat until golden. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the steak and salsa, and cook until heated through. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve flour tortillas and all the fixins (cheese, scallions, etc.)
