Rach's husband John gives the margarita a summer makeover using fresh cucumbers, jalapeños and a touch of elderflower liqueur.

Pair John's festive cocktail with Rach's Tex-Mex inspired recipe of Shrimp Nachos with Green Tomato or Raw Tomato Veracruz Salsa

Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 slices cucumber
  • 2 jalapeño slices, seeded
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco (John likes Patron Silver)
  • 1 ounce elderflower liqueur (John likes St-Germain)
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle cucumber and jalapeño. Add remaining ingredients, fill with ice, shake vigorously, then strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Always drink responsibly.
