For the Easter-Passover season, John makes a spring-y cocktail with ingredients he and Rach have at home.

John's Tip: Use gin instead of vodka, if you'd like.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 5 basil leaves, plus more for garnish
  • About 3 ounces vodka
  • About 1 ounce simple syrup, or to taste
  • About 1 ½ ounces lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Club soda

Yield

Serves: 2

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker, muddle basil leaves, then add vodka, simple syrup and lemon juice. Add ice, cover and shake vigorously. Strain into 2 ice-filled glasses and top with club soda. Garnish with basil leaves.

Always drink responsibly.
