Wintry blood oranges are the secret ingredient to John's cocktail, a seasonal ode to the classic champagne-based French 75 (check out his Italian 75 here).

Ingredients

  • 1½ ounces gin
  • ¾ ounce fresh squeezed blood orange juice
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Campari
  • ​​​​​​​Ice
  • 3 to 4 ounces champagne or sparkling wine
  • Blood orange twist, for garnish

Yield

Serves: 1

Preparation

Combine gin, orange juice, simple syrup and Campari in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake and strain into a chilled champagne flute or coupe. Top with champagne and garnish with blood orange twist.
