Infusing gin with strawberries lends a fruity sweetness and a lovely color and aroma. John uses the resulting elixir in his Strawberry Negroni, a riff on a cocktail he discovered while dining at Jean-Georges Vongerichten's New York restaurant The Fulton. It would also be great in a gin and tonic. Experiment with it and come up with your own cocktails!
- 8-10 fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups gin
Put strawberries into an airtight container. Fill container with gin, seal the container and let steep for at least 5 days. Strain before using.
Always drink responsibly.
