This easy, grain-free dog treat recipe comes from Allison Fogarty—the owner of dog treat company Doggy Delights by Allison—whose story inspired us so much last year, we invited her back to cook with Rach.

Just like the dog treats Allison sells on her website, this homemade version is packed with healthy ingredients like sweet potato, peanut butter, carrots and coconut flour.

Pro Tip: Store the treats in the freezer, where they'll keep for at least 6 months. Most dogs love frozen treats, but for a senior dog or puppy that needs soft or small treats, thaw the treats beforehand.

Note: This segment was filmed before production was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups coconut flour
  • 1 ¼ cups cooked sweet potato puree
  • ½ cup natural salt-free peanut butter
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ⅓ cup shredded carrots
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350˚F.

In a standing mixer, combine all ingredients and mix until combined. Scrape down the sides and mix again.

Press the dough into silicone dog treat-shaped baking sheets, about 1 inch deep. Bake until slightly browned, about 27 minutes.
