After Fighting Cancer Himself, This 8-Year-Old is Helping Others With Life-Threatening Illnesses

After fighting cancer himself from 2 to 6 years old, King—now 8 years old—and his parents started the King Fights Cancer Foundation, a safety net for any family fighting a life-threatening illness, to pay it forward.

"For the past few years, we've been collecting every possible item that we can that would be helpful to the patients and their families in the hospitals, such as toys, blankets, care packages—anything that could make their difficult time a little easier," explains King's mom.

"We want to be a light to other families to show them that no matter what you're going through there's always a silver lining," says Michael, King's dad.

Our friends at JOANN Stores are giving King a $1000 gift card so he can stock up on all the toys, crafts and supplies he needs. And they are also donating $5000 to the foundation so he can keep doing all of his amazing work!
