Lynette Medley realized there wasn't enough focus on period poverty, so she created No More Secrets—a nonprofit that provides toiletries for those in need.
"Period poverty is the inability to access safe menstrual products, in addition to having access to waste management services, such as operable toilets and running water to deal with your menstrual hygiene," explains Lynette Medley, founder of No More Secrets.
"I've lived in period poverty. I've had my own experiences with period poverty as well as my daughter, so when I was exposed to other people in the community suffering from this epidemic, that's how I realized that we had to do something about it." And that's where the idea for No More Secrets was born. The nonprofit not only provides supplies and toiletries for those in need, but also provides information and education—and it has now gone nationwide.
