Whoopi Goldberg on the Importance of Christmas Movies: "They Shake the Bad Out of You"

When Lifetime called Whoopi Goldberg to ask her if she'd produce one of their upcoming films, she only needed to hear one thing to sign on:

Christmas.

"[It was] a yes, instantly!" she says.

The name of the film? "A New Orleans Noel," and it stars the legend Patti Labelle — yet another reason for Whoopi's unequivocal yes.

"She could just stand there and I'll do it!" says Whoopi.

Jokes aside, though, for Whoopi — who, of course, is also behind an iconic, eponymous Christmas sweater line — nothing beats Christmas spirit.

"Christmas movies are important because I feel like they can shake the bad out of you," says Whoopi. "A good Christmas movie, you start watching it and it doesn't really matter what’s happening, as long as it's Christmas, and you're BACK."

We couldn't agree more, Whoopi!
