Rachael Shares Update On Muttville Senior Dog Rescue + February …
When former Bond girl and packing queen Rachel Grant called a shower cap "the most useful item in your hotel room," we were a little confused — but she always has brilliant tips, so we had faith we'd be amazed.
(And we were!)
You may only use a shower cap to keep your hair from getting wet, but let's just say Rachel puts hers to WORK when she's away from home.
RELATED: 8 Genius Packing Hacks, From a Former Bond Girl
In fact, she says she has about FIFTY uses for it — and here are four of them:
1. Remote Control Cover
We've never really thought about this, but the packing pro claims the remote control is the "filthiest" item waiting for you in your hotel room.
"It never gets cleaned," she says.
So, before using it, Rachel covers it with a shower cap.
We told you… BRILLIANT.
2. Ice Pack
We hope this doesn't happen, but if you injure yourself while traveling — and don't have an ice pack handy — throw some ice from the mini bar into a shower cap. Voila!
3. Camera Protector
Unfortunately, rain doesn't always go away on vacation, but you don't have to let it stop you from snapping photos. Just protect your fancy camera with a shower cap.
You, of course, can lift the lens coverage when you're ready to snap — OR, as Rachel points out, you can leave it covered to create a cool effect in your photos.
4. Hair Tie
Okay, this one blew our minds!
If you find yourself in desperate need of a hair tie while on vacay with nowhere to buy one, Rachel suggests using the elastic of a shower cap. (What?!)
Simply fold the shower cap and snip the majority of the plastic off, leaving only the elastic with a tiny bit of plastic. And in an instant, you have a hair tie!
Watch Rachel demonstrate and put her hair in an adorable ponytail in the video above.
"I've even [gotten] compliments about it," Rachel says.
Oh, we have NO doubt!
