When cooking fish, it’s often not about "how long," but more about knowing what it should look like when it’s done.
Sound complicated? Trust us, it’s actually very simple.
(Don't believe us? Watch Rach and Bob Harper make Baked Fish + Lemony Pasta with Spring Vegetables and Greens in the video above!)
Because filets of fish can vary greatly in size, the key to cooking a white fish like tilapia is to cook until the flesh is opaque, firm to the touch and flakes easily with a fork. And it takes a surprisingly short amount of time.
A good rule of thumb: Keep a close eye on your fish and check it frequently as it’s baking.
Here are a couple methods to try:
HOW TO BROIL WHITE FISH:
Preheat broiler and broil until opaque.
HOW TO BAKE WHITE FISH:
Preheat oven to 400°F with a rack set in the upper third of the oven. Bake fish to firm, opaque and flaky.
